Witold Soszynski, 84, died December 6, 2022 at Hackettstown Hospital. Son of the late John and Sophie Skolimowska Soszynski, he was born in Warszawa, Poland on January 18, 1938.
Witold wanted a better life for himself and his future family and so he immigrated to the United States, became a citizen, and managed the Wisla Club in Garfield, NJ for many years where he made several lifelong friends. He secured a position at Garden State Paper Factory as part of the Local Union 68. He worked very hard to become a Forman; a position he held until his retirement in 2002. We are all very proud of his many accomplishments.
He raised his family in Highland Lakes/Vernon, NJ prior to moving to Hackettstown later in life. Witold was very devoted to his family. He is survived by his three sons, Martin Kalski and his Fiancé Helen Dabetic of Middletown, NY; Witold (Vito) Soszynski and his wife Elizabeth Soszynski of Hackettstown, NJ; Christopher Soszynski of Franklin, NJ and close friend Anthony Borino. Witold is also survived by his beloved nieces, nephews and friends. If Witold could catch someone’s ear, they would know at introduction how much he loved his two adoring grandchildren, Emily and Nicholas. He was so overwhelmingly proud of them and would beam every time he spoke of them. His favorite past times were to watch Emily play soccer and greet her while getting her off the bus from school as well as playing with Nicholas and watching him be a “fireman”. Witold was a kind, honest, loving man, who will be missed terribly.
