William E. Theroux, 92, of Port Murray, NJ, formerly of Wharton, NJ passed away peacefully at home on February 5, 2019.
William was born on August 10, 1926, in Clarksburg, West Virginia to the late Ernest and Margaret Theroux.
William graduated high school in Brooklyn, NY, class of 1944. After graduation William entered the United States Army in 1945 where he honorably served his country during World War II. After being honorably discharged from the army in 1947 he married the love of his life Mary in January, 1958.
He worked as a computer programmer at Picatiny Arsenal until retiring in 1991. William was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Wharton, NJ. He was also a member of the Wharton Seniors Club. He enjoyed taking trips to Atlantic City and spending time with his family. When the weather turned warm you could find William outside in the garden or firing up the grill and cooking for his friends and family.
In addition to his parents, William is predeceased by his son Kevin, brothers, John and Ernest Theroux and his sister Margaret Sahadi.
William is survived his loving wife, Mary, son, William and his wife Carol, Daughter, Mary Colette and her husband Peter Minoui. William is also survived by his five grandchildren, Danielle Voyce and her husband Steven, Steven Theroux and his wife Sarah, Alexis Minoui and fiancé Edgar Morales-Mejia, Katherine Campbell and her husband Andrew and Erica Minoui. He is also survived by his four loving great grandchildren, Karsen, Cristian, Emily, and Greyson, a sister in law Patricia Franco, and several nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 9:00 AM at St. Theodore Church, Port Murray, NJ, followed by burial at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in William's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to St. Theodore Church.
