William “Bill” Perry, 82, of Hackettstown, NJ passed away peacefully on November 9, 2024 at Morristown Medical Center with his loving family by his side.
Bill was born on February 3, 1942 in Jersey City, NJ to the late Walter and Mary Ellen Perry.
He was a graduate of Parsippany Hills High School. After graduation he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. during the Vietnam War. He owned a operated Community Lumber in Morris Plains for 10 years. He later went on to become the Superintendant at Victoria Village Apartment Complex. Never retiring Bill continued to work as the Super until his illness. He was an avid NY Giants fan and coin collector. He enjoyed traveling and went on many cruises worldwide with his companion Mary MacDonald. Bill loved fixing things and could always be found tinkering on something. Above all he loved his family and cherished every moment spent with them.
Bill is survived by his devoted companion Mary MacDonald, his loving children; Mary Ellen Esposito and her companion Joe Tone, William Perry Jr. and his wife Kathi and Christopher Perry and his wife Stacie. His cherished grandchildren; Hailey, Emmali, Madison, Payton, Kori, Avery and Harper. His step-children; Glenn MacDonald and his wife Kim and Jill Obelink and her husband Alex and step-grandchildren Ian, Mia, Emily and Elizabeth. He also leaves behind his brother Walter Perry.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, November 18, 2024 from 10AM – 12 PM at Maguire Memorial Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840. Funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 12:00 in the funeral home. Burial will take place at Northern New Jersey Veterans Cemetery in Sparta, NJ
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill’s name to Disabled American Veterans at dav.org
