Vladimir Grigorovich

February 17, 1939 — February 22, 2023

Vladimir Grigorovich, 84, of Port Murray, NJ passed away peacefully on February 22, 2023 at Hackettstown Medical Center.

Born in Moscow, Russia, He attended and graduated from the Moscow Pedagogical Institute in 1963 with a Masters of the Arts.

Vladimir lived in Israel for a few years before moving to the United States in 1975.

Vladimir was an accomplished artist who poured himself into his paintings. His work has been featured in galleries located in Russia, Germany, France, Japan, Israel, Canada, and in many states across the US. He had participated in many All-Soviet exhibitions before leaving Russia, his works even shown in the Soviet Pavilion at the 1967 World Fair Expo in Montreal and went on to be featured in many one-man and group shows worldwide. He expressed himself with watercolor and oil paints, facades of houses and deserted spaces, even furniture, mastering texture and complex color schemes in his works to convey the deep emotion of his subjects. Vladimir was described in one of the many articles on himself and his art as having “impeccable taste [that] precludes any excess or compromise,” and goes on to call him “righteous” in the world of art, a man whose work “nourishes us by its quality.”

Vladimir was an incredibly talented artist, but also a devoted husband and loving father.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ludmila Grigorovich, daughter Kathy Grigorovich of Brooklyn, and a granddaughter.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Vladimir’s memory may be made to the gallery who will be exhibiting his artwork, MORA Art Museum 80 Grand Street Jersey City, NJ 07302-4522.
