Vera Edna Jensen

Vera Edna Jensen, 99, of Hackettstown, NJ and previously of Belvidere, NJ, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2019 at the House of Good Shepherd in Hackettstown where she has resided for the past 9 years.
Vera was born on August 19, 1920 in Newark, NJ to the late Nicolai and Edna Ibsen.
She was employed as the town clerk and the town treasurer in East Hanover prior to her retirement. She was a housewife most of her life. Vera married the love of her life, Harold Jensen and together celebrated 43 years of marriage prior to his passing in 1986. Vera resided in East Hanover for many years prior to moving to Panther Valley and Belvidere. She was a volunteer ambulance driver for the East Hanover ambulance squad. Vera was of the Protestant faith. She enjoyed singing and was in the choir at the 1st Presbyterian Church in East Hanover and at the Panther Valley Church. She enjoyed needlepoint, bowling and traveling. She also enjoyed baking and was known for her Danish cookies. She will be sadly missed.
She is survived by her loving children; Janice McKelvey, Judith Ragucci, Jill Kearns and her husband Mike, Joyce Pimentel and her husband Robert, Norman Jensen and his wife Robyn; her caring sister, Jean Zuschlag and 2 nephews; Allen and Raymond Zuschlag, 13 cherished grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Harold, she is preceded in death by her son-in-law William McKelvey.
A memorial service celebrating Vera's life will be held on December 21, 2019 at 12:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church 14 Hanover Road, East Hanover, NJ 07936 Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Vera's name to the House of Good Shepherd, 798 Willow Grove Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840 or a charity of one's choice.
