Valerie J Firl

Valerie J. Firl, 46 of Mansfield, NJ (formerly of Round Rock, TX) passed away on August 20, 2021 in Rockaway, NJ Valerie was born on January 23, 1975 in Palm Springs, California to Jeffrey Marshall and Laura Clark. She married the love of her life David Firl on October 4, 1997. Together they raised their 4 children. Valerie attended college at Austin Community College in Texas. She went on to further her education and earned her Bachelor's degree from UT Dallas. She was a registered nurse and employed for both Hunterdon Medical Center and Atlantic Health. Valerie had an adventurous heart and loved the outdoors. She enjoyed photography and sunsets. She was an animal lover, particularly dogs. She enjoyed cooking and baking especially peanut butter cookies for her family. Her green thumb was evident in how her house plants thrived. Above all she will be remembered as a woman who was very giving with her time and serving others. Her family was her world and she treasured every moment spent with them. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 24 years, David Firl, her loving children, Rae Ann, Hannah, Caleb and Josiah. She also leaves behind her parents Jeffrey Marshall and Laura Clark, a brother Jeffrey Marshall and a sister Bonnie Thomas. Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 12-3:30 PM at the Maguire-Scala Memorial Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840. Funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 3:30 PM in the funeral home. An additional celebration of life will be held in Texas and announced at a later date.
