Thomas G. Tagliaferro

Thomas G. Tagliaferro, 89, of Hackettstown, NJ passed away peacefully on October 28, 2019 with his loving family by his side.
Thomas was born on June 22, 1930 in Newark, NJ to the late Joseph and Maria Tagliaferro.
Thomas was a graduate of Central High School in Newark, NJ. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force as a radio mechanic during The Korean War. After being honorably discharged, he received his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology. Thomas worked as a civil engineer for The Woodbridge Township Municipality for over 30 years until his retirement in 1996. Thomas enjoyed working on and fixing electronics and also loved going to his shore house in Seaside, NJ. He had a passion for gardening and cherished all the time he spent with his family.
Thomas is survived by his siblings; Michael Tagliaferro and his wife Carmela, Carmela Pelaia and her husband Carmen. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews; Joseph Tagliaferro and his wife Susan, Anthony Pelaia, Lucille Steinberg and her husband Kevin, Maria Darling and her husband Denis, Ramona Pelaia, Laura Pelaia and Dana Pelaia. Thomas also leaves behind 4 great nieces and nephews; Robert Tagliaferro, Nicholas Steinberg, Alexandria Steinberg, and Courtney Darling.
In addition to his parents Thomas is predeceased by his great niece; Gabrielle Tagliaferro.
A mass of Christian burial will take place on November 1, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. Rose of Lima Church, 312 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, NJ 07936. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery and Mausoleum, 225 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, NJ 07963.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Thomas's name to The Salesian Sisters of St.John Bosco, 659 Belmont Avenue, North Haledon, New Jersey 07508-2397.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Maguire-Scala Memorial Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840.
