Stella Ann Ascolese

Stella Ann Ascolese, 91, of Great Meadows, New Jersey passed into eternal light on Monday January 20; she died at home with the comfort of having her family and friends by her side.
She was born in a farm house, the daughter of Polish/Byelorussian immigrants; she lived with great Dignity and in the grandeur of Simplicity with complete Humility. Her heart was tender, her hand was strong and steady. In her youth she enjoyed playing her guitar and singing with her father as he played his pump organ. Throughout life she sang in several church choirs, enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles and game shows.
Stella's life was very full, the mother of Raymond and Debbie, Joan and Steve, Gene and Kathy, Marty and Vicki, and Robert, the grandmother of ten, the great-grand mother of ten, and the great, great grandmother of two. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond (2017) and her son Edmond (1971).
Stella was the matriarch of four succeeding generations. A faithful Roman Catholic, Stella traveled to The Holy Land, the Vatican, and The Great Marian Shrines of Europe. The Rosary was always at hand.
A visitation will be held from 9-10:45 am at the Maguire-Scala Memorial Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ. followed by a Funeral Mass 11:30 am at St. Peter and Paul RC Church, 360 US Route 46, Great Meadows, NJ. Interment Pequest Union Cemetery. Repast: Independence Twp. Fire House Hall.
