Sophie L Bryk

Sophie L. Bryk, 90, of Hackettstown, NJ passed away peacefully on July 25, 2018 at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ with her loving family by her side.
Sophie was born on August 27, 1927 in Old Forge, PA to the late Nicholas and Mary Lubianetsky.
Sophie was a graduate of Taylor High School in Taylor, PA Class of 1945. She met and married the love of her life Henry Bryk in 1950. She and Henry moved to Hackettstown in 1950. Sophie was of the Catholic faith and a parishioner of the Church of the Assumption in Hackettstown. She was very involved in the church, always volunteering for events at the school. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and past member of the Columbiettes. Sophie volunteered for Bingo and sang in the choir. She will be fondly remembered for her beautiful soprano voice. Her hobbies included cooking and knitting. She also was an avid reader. Above all, she loved her family and treasured every moment spent with them.
She is survived by her loving children, Stephen Bryk and his wife Sue Ellen, Ann Marie Bryk, David Bryk and his wife Heidi and Timothy Bryk and close friend of the family, Edward Thomas. Four cherished grandchildren, Evan and his wife Rachel Bryk, Owen and his wife Reka Bryk, Andrew Bryk and his fiancé Emilee Renk, and Michael Bryk. She is also survived by two adorable great-grandchildren, Milo and Oliver Bryk.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, July 27, 2018 from 4 to 8 PM at the Scala Memorial Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840 A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Church Of The Assumption, 302 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840. Burial will take place at Pequest Union Cemetery in Great Meadows, NJ
