Sharon L Fontana

Sharon L. Fontana, 73, of Long Valley, NJ and previously of Parsippany, NJ passed away on January 29, 2023 at her home with her beloved family by her side.

Sharon was born on August 7, 1949 in Newark, NJ to the late James and Geraldine Johnson. She attended Montclair State University before obtaining her Real Estate license. She loved real estate so much that she became a Real Estate broker and successfully owned and operated Century 21 First Century Real Estate Office in Nutley, New Jersey. In 2008, she retired from real estate, but never lost the hustle. Sharon was very talented with a profound ability to negotiate and mastered the “art of the sale”.

In her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her husband and family. Baking cookies for the grandchildren’s birthdays, making the holidays extra special, and mostly making the house a home. She cherished family vacations, and creating wonderful memories in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. She was a tremendous teacher and without obligation offered her support and guidance for anyone who asked or didn’t ask in in her life.

Her family was her life, and she cherished the times she spent with her grandchildren.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Gerald and their daughters; Danielle Mungiello and her husband John Shanda Babbitt and her husband Jason. She also leaves behind her grandchildren; Danny, Matthew, and Ava Mungiello and Sydney, Julia, and Serafina Babbitt, and a sister; Jeri Decker and her husband Ken.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Mountain Church, Long Valley, NJ. Cremation was held privately and under the direction of Maguire- Scala Memorial Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Sharon’s name to the American Cancer Society.
