Sarah Chapman

Sarah “Sandy” Chapman, 86, of Washington Township, NJ (Morris County) passed away peacefully on August 20, 2023 at the Meadows of Heath Village.

Sandy was born on May 22, 1937 in Elizabeth, NJ to the late George and Sarah Fried.

She was a graduate of Benedictine Academy in Elizabeth, NJ. She married the love of her life Walter Ernest Chapman who passed away in 1988. Sandy was a homemaker and truly enjoyed being able to stay home and raise her children. Sandy loved animals; she was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling. Above all she loved her family and cherished every moment spent with them.

Sandy is survived by her loving daughter, Leslie Chapman, her caring grandchildren, Shannon Rauter and Alexander Rauter and her brother, Daniel Fried and his wife Jill. In addition to her husband Walter she is preceded in death by her son Brett Chapman who passed in 1984.

Honoring Sandy’s wishes, all services will be private.
