Listen to Obituary

Ronald Russell Werner, 91, of Hope, NJ (formerly of Clifton, NJ) passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025 with his loving family by his side.

Ronald was born on July 26, 1934 in Scranton, Pennsylvania to the late Herman and Apolonia Werner.

After completing High School in Scranton, PA, Ronald enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served as a Seabee on the USS Tarawa during the Korean War. When he returned from his tour of duty he went on a blind date on St. Patrick's Day 1959. This date proved to be love at first sight as Ronald proposed to then Gloria Kieselowsky 3 months later. Gloria made Ronald the happiest man on earth the following year when she became Gloria Werner. In his younger years, he worked alongside his father in the Taylor Coal Mines. Upon moving to Clifton, NJ Ronald owned and operated a car wash which is still in operation today. He ultimately found his passion in coffee sales. After raising their 4 children Ronald and Gloria moved to Hope, NJ in 2001. He was a parishioner of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Great Meadows, NJ where he was very active. He took great pride in his role of the church's pierogi sales, making the stuffing for the pierogis. He also helped with many other fund raisers such as Tricky Trays. Above all Ronald loved his family, he will be greatly missed.

Ronald is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Gloria Werner, his loving children; Ronald Werner and his wife Christine, Susan McMaster, John Werner and his wife Karen, Wendy Hover and her husband Thomas, 11 grandchildren; Jennifer, Jimmy, Laura, John, Joseph, Andrew, Emily, Jeffrey, Justin, Tyler and Zehra, 9 great-grandchildren; Penelope, Zane, Yunis. Dominic, Christian, Sebastian, Jack, Ava, and Amelia. He also survived by his Sister, Marlene Pucilowski, his brother-in-law Robert Kieselowsky and his wife Barbara, his sister-in-law Millie Werner and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings; Robert, Edward, James, Nancy, Genny, Joseph, Richard and Theresa.
