Robert "Bob" Mazzei

Robert "Bob" Mazzei, 66, of Long Valley, NJ passed away on December 20, 2020 at Hackettstown Medical Center. Robert was born on March 25, 1954 in Newark, NJ to the late John and Jean Mazzei. Robert was a graduate of Boonton High School class of 1972. He went on to further his education at William Paterson University, earning his bachelor's degree in accounting. He began his career in New York City with Touche Ross & Company and later Times Mirror, Inc, before establishing his own practice in Succasunna, NJ where he served his clients for more than 30 years.
Robert married the love of his life, Ellen, in 1990. He and Ellen moved to Long Valley in 1996 where they raised their 3 children. He loved everything about his town, particularly the breadth of colors adorned by Schooley's Mountain each fall. Robert was active in his community; he coached many of his children's sports teams and more recently, served on the Economic Development Committee in Long Valley. Robert was an avid golfer and a baseball fanatic, always rooting for his favorite team, the NY Yankees. He enjoyed long walks around town with his dog "Tiny". Above all he loved his family. He will be sadly missed, and remain in their hearts forever. Robert is survived by his devoted, cherished, and beloved wife of 30 years, Ellen Mazzei, his loving children, Nicole, Christopher, and Daniel, his sister, Kathy Mazzei, his adoring sister-in laws; Laura Holtzman and Missy Holtzman, and his faithful companion Tiny. Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, December 27, 2020 from 1- 4:30 PM at the Maguire-Scala Memorial Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840. Funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 4:30 in the funeral home.
