Robert "Bob" C. Klein, 80, of Hackettstown, NJ passed away peacefully on January 1, 2022 at Hackettstown Medical Center.
Robert was born on March 26, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Abraham and Nettie Klein. Robert was employed as a chemist at Rutgers University Nuclear Physics Department prior to his retirement. After retirement he was able to devote his time to his many other interests. He became a master of faux finishes and made beautiful stained glass creations and fused glass jewelry. His intellectual curiosity led him in many directions including knife-making, home brewing, mushroom hunting, Bonsai trees, and pastry making. Robert was an avid reader, enjoyed music, dancing, art and flower arranging. He loved meeting people and exploring new places. He was an enthusiastic collector of many things, and loved attending craft fairs and flea markets, always looking for his next treasure. His positive life force and optimism were felt by everyone. Above all he loved his family and friends, and he will be greatly missed. Robert is survived by his devoted wife, Diana Bella, his loving children, Bonnie Ball and Michael Klein, 6 grandchildren, Jenny, Lucas, Alex, Erin, Marcus and Jake and his brother Steven Klein. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter Elise Klein. A Memorial service celebrating Robert's life will be held at a later date.
