Robert I Heckman

Robert I Heckman Jr. 77 of Hope, NJ passed away peacefully on January 27, 2020 at Forest Manor in Hope, NJ.
Robert was born on November 2, 1942 in Reading, Pennsylvania to the late Robert and Mary Heckman.
Robert was of Catholic faith. Those closest to Robert fondly knew him as Bobby. He had a captivating, funny personality and touched many lives with his sweet kind disposition. He loved being outdoors and had a great appreciation of nature and flowers, which started while gardening with his mother. Robert also enjoyed animals, especially dogs. He was fond of country and classical music. He loved the challenge of puzzles. Robert was an amateur foodie and loved trying new dishes. He will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his loving and devoted guardian who was his surrogate sister, Susan Lehner. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his long-time co-guardian his best buddy Richard Lehner.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 10:15 AM at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 302 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840. Burial will immediately follow the mass at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.
