Robert W. Boehl, known casually as Bill, 74, of Hackettstown, NJ passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025.
Bill was born on March 28, 1950 in Amityville, NY to the late Robert and Vivian Boehl. He was also predeceased by his older sister, Vivian Dorothea Boehl.
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, Air force and National Guard. Bill earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Centenary University. He was a talented guitarist, playing the guitar and singing on cruise ships as a young man. He married the love of his life Ingrid (Hansen) celebrating 34 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2019. Together they often opened their home to those in need and were also very active in multiple, local animal rescue efforts. Bill was a dedicated Christian and very involved in the church. He attended Trinity United Methodist Church, Word of Life Church and Breakpoint Church where he provided music, taught Sunday School, and both led and was involved in men’s groups. Bill was always a caring neighbor and community member, frequently helping the elderly and disabled to go shopping, do laundry and get to appointments. He was a true friend that could be counted on. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his children; Heather Santerineross and her husband John, Samantha Lomelino, Laura Forrest and her husband Alex Stopka, Peter Boehl and Dorothy Smigelski, and his cherished grandsons Blaise Dalrymple and Erik Stopka.
Abiding with Bill’s wishes, all services will be held privately at Trinity Church at a future date. (Details will be provided/updated).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to one of the following causes that Bill was passionate about: Habitat for Humanity, Wounded Warrior Project, Gift of Life (Philadelphia), or Tabby’s Place Cat Rescue (Ringoes NJ)
