Richard James Shelley

Richard James Shelley III, 68, of Hackettstown, NJ passed away peacefully on November 30, 2018 at Hackettstown Medical Center.
Richard was born on October 10, 1950 in Syracuse, NY to Richard James Shelley Jr. and Barbara "Berger" Bartlett.
He was a graduate of St. John the Baptist High School in Syracuse, NY, class of 1969, and later served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper. He was employed at Shop-rite in Mansfield, NJ for over 15 years and was an avid NY Yankees, NY Giants and Syracuse University sports fan.
He is survived by his loving mother Barbara Bartlett, his caring siblings, sister Gail O'Hara and her husband James and a brother Charles Shelley and his wife Esther. He also leaves behind a son, Aaron, and his nieces and nephews, Christopher, Colleen, Philip and Susan.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Hackettstown Baptist Church in Hackettstown, NJ and another in Syracuse, NY.
