Reginald Wagner, 87, of Long Valley, NJ (formerly of Westfield, New Jersey) passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025 at Spring Grove Rehab in Providence, NJ.
Reginald was born on February 13, 1938 in Munich, Germany to the late Hans and Maria Wagner.
Reginald was of Catholic faith. He was very social and outgoing. After high school he attended a Trade School for baking in Germany. While in Germany, he was employed at many fine hotels and restaurants where he mastered his baking skills. Upon moving to the United States he married the love of his life Marjorie E. Siday. They married in 1972 and together celebrated 53 years of marriage. Reginald took pride in co-owning the Mendham Bakery with his partner John Glasser. He formed lifetime relationships and friends. He retired in 2004. Reginald fluently spoke five languages; English, German, Italian, French and Swiss. He was an avid hiker, and was a member of the Tri State Ramblers Club and helped to maintain trails for the Appalachian Mountain Club. He was very athletic and enjoyed all outdoor sports such as; tennis, skiing, kayaking, canoeing, gardening and soccer. He also was an avid reader. Above all he loved his family and friends. He will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Marjorie Wagner, his children, Marcus Wagner and his wife Kimberly, Erica Wagner and granddaughter, Brianna Marie Wagner.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, September 22, 2025 from 12-1 PM at Maguire Memorial Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840. Memorial service celebrating Reginald's life will immediately follow the visitation at 1:00 PM in the funeral home.
