Raymond Ascolese

Raymond Ascolese, age 88, of Great Meadows, NJ on Friday, September 8, 2017. Raymond was born May 25, 1929 in Union City, NJ to Mary and Razio. Beloved husband of Stella Szyszko since 1949; father of Raymond and Debbie, Joan and Stephen, Eugene and Kathy, Robert, Martin and Vicki; a fifth son Edmond Anthony died in a plane crash at the age of 18 in 1971. He was a loving and humorous grandfather to ten; great-grandfather of eight and great-great-grand father of one and soon a second. First retired after 30 years from American Can Company in Jersey City, NJ; secondly retired from Klein's Farm and Garden Center in Woodbridge, NJ. In later years he assisted at his son's automotive shop in Great Meadows. Relatives and friends are welcome to call at the Scala Memorial Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ on Tuesday from 9am to 10:30. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday Sept. 12th, 2017, 11:15 AM at St. Peter and Paul RC Church, 360 US Highway 46, Great Meadows, Burial Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows.
