Otto Theodore Zeeb

October 15, 1922 — June 12, 2020

On June 12, 2020 Reverend Otto Theodore Zeeb, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, entered his heavenly home at the age of 97.
Born October 15, 1922, in Bronx NY, Otto was preceded in death by his wife Edith Rose (Matzke), his daughter Helen (Collester) and his granddaughter Katherine Reynolds.
Otto and Edith married on June 15, 1947 in Sturgeon Bay Wisconsin and were blessed with a large and loving family of six children.
He is survived by his children and their spouses: Barbara (Reynolds), Miriam (Tower), Daniel Zeeb, Peter Zeeb, Deborah (Sweet). A number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a brother Arthur Zeeb.
He was immersed in the Lutheran community that would be his lifelong support from an early age.
Rev. Zeeb attended St. Stephen's Lutheran School in New York City and Concordia Collegiate Institute in Bronxville NY. He entered Concordia Theological Seminary in Springfield Illinois in 1941 and was ordained a minister in 1947 and retired in 1988.
He completed a part time vicarage in Saskatchewan Canada and Omaha Nebraska and served as Pastor in Glennwood Springs Colorado, Sturgeon Bay Wisconsin, Austin Texas, Mexico City Mexico, New Orleans Louisiana and Dover and Randolph New Jersey.
Otto was an educator at heart. He was kind and soft-spoken, and always had time to answer a question or solve a problem, no matter how small. He loved family road trips to show his children the natural beauty of many states. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator.
Otto will be buried at the Union Cemetery in Hackettstown NJ on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 11:00 AM. Reverend Aaron Uphoff from Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Randolph NJ will officiate the service at the cemetery. The family gratefully declines flowers but prayers, condolences and memories are gladly accepted at www.scalamemorialhome.com. Donations may be made to Lutheran Bible Translators at lbt.org or Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 319 Quaker Church Road Randolph NJ 07869 towards a new organ.
