Narain Bhojwani, 84, of Hackettstown, NJ passed away comfortably and peacefully on June 5, 2017 at home with his loving family by his side. Narain was born on May 7, 1933 in Karachi, Pakistan to the late Jethanand and Lakshmi Bhojwani. Narain was the first in his family to migrate to the United States in 1960 with the clothes on his back and some change in his pocket. He then pursued an MS in Mechanical Engineering at Kansas State University. Shortly thereafter, he met and married the love of his life Sonia in India. In 1982 they moved to the United States. Throughout his struggles, he demonstrated a great deal of strength, courage, conviction, and determination to overcome any obstacles. One of 14 children, Narain spent much of his time focused on bringing his siblings to the United States. Narain was employed as an electrical and mechanical engineer at Hoffman- La Roche until his retirement in 2001. In his free time, he enjoyed listening to Indian music and playing chess with his son. He avidly kept up on current events and always had the television tuned to a news channel. Narain was a kind man who loved his family and he always made sacrifices to take care of them. He cherished the time he spent with them and he will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his devoted wife Usha 'Sonia' Bhojwani, and his loving son, Amit, and his wife Jennifer. Hindu funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 9-11:00 AM at the Scala Memorial Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840. Cremation will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Narain's name to the American Liver Foundation at 39 Broadway, Suite 2700 New York, New York 10006.
