Monica A Smith

It is with great sadness that we have to announce on Monday, October 24th, 2022, Monica Ann Smith, loving mother, and grandmother, passed away. She had just celebrated her 89th birthday on October 15th.

Monica was an avid reader throughout her life, there was almost never a time when she didn’t have a book open with a cup of tea and ginger snaps. She passed that love of reading and always learning something new to her grandchildren. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and would do them every night.

Monica was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Charles Sydney Smith, Sr., and is survived by her 5 Children, Randy Howell, Theresa Howell, Lisa Pierson, Charles Smith, Jr. and David Smith, her step-son Tom Smith and his partner Helen Moore, step-daughter, Susan Ostrander Smith, grandchildren, Charles Smith, III, Jessica Barnes, Brittany Smith, Robert Pierson, Daniel Pierson, Kevin Howell and Katherine Howell, Jennifer and Amber Smith, Steven, Sean and Daniel Smith and 3 great-grandchildren.

“A limb has fallen from the family tree. I keep hearing a voice that says, “Grieve not for me”. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song. The good life I lived while I was strong. Continue my heritage, I’m counting on you. Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through. My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest. Remembering all, how I truly was blessed. Continue traditions, no matter how small. Go on with your life, don’t worry about falls. I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin. Until the day comes we’re together again.” – Unknown author
