Michael F Alper

Michael F. Alper, 68, of Budd Lake, NJ and previously of Hackettstown, NJ passed away on November 3, 2022 at his home.

Michael was born on January 24, 1954 in Irvington, NJ to the late Harold and Anne Alper.

He was a graduate or Rutgers University Law School class of 1979. Michael owned and operated the Law Office of Michael F. Alper Esq., where he served as an immigration attorney. He was a member of the New Jersey Bar Association. He was a major political figure in the NJ Democratic Party and also ran for state legislature. Michael enjoyed military, political, and government history. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching The Giants and The Steelers play football.

Michael is survived by his cousins; Lewis Sofman, Charles Sofman and his wife Marianne, Stacy Sofman, Susan Sofman, Morton Markowitz, and David Menkes. He also leaves behind many cherished friends and colleagues he met over the years.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Harold and Anne Alper.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 4:00 to 5:30 PM at Maguire- Scala Memorial Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840. A memorial service celebrating Michael’s life will be held at 5:30 PM in the funeral home.
