Mary Patricia Walsh (nee Reardon), 86, of Hackettstown, NJ passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on September 7, 2016.
Mary was born on April 12, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Joseph and Mary Reardon (nee Levell). Mary graduated from St. Brendan High School in Brooklyn in 1948, and went on to become a Registered Nurse after graduating from Maryview Hospital School of Nursing in Portsmouth, VA.
In 1965, Mary married her loving husband, Michael J. Walsh. The couple settled in West Orange, NJ and raised four children. Mary worked as a nurse at the Veterans Administration Hospital in East Orange, NJ and at St. Vincent Nursing Home in Montclair, NJ. Mary was a devout Catholic, a member of the Altar Rosary Society at St. Theodore Roman Catholic Church in Port Murray, NJ and a member of the Holy Rosary Chapter of Dominican Laity in Summit, NJ.
Mary is survived by her loving daughters Mary-Anne Sullivan, Catherine Doyle and her husband Timothy, and Patricia Briganti and her husband Daniel, son Michael, dear siblings John Reardon and Gladys Reardon, and cherished grandchildren Elizabeth, Timothy, Claire, Matthew, Sean, and Caelinn. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband Michael, and siblings Angela Reardon, Muriel Jordan, Regina D'Onofrio, and Joseph Reardon. Friends and family may pay their respects on Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 3-7 PM at the Scala Memorial Home. 124 High St. Hackettstown, NJ 07840. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday September 12, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Theodore Roman Catholic Church, 855 Route 57, Port Murray, NJ 07865. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ.
