Maeve J Maher

Maeve J. Maher, 90, of Washington Township, Morris County, NJ passed away peacefully on March 31, 2023 at Heath Village.

Maeve was born on November 17, 1932 in Bronx, NY to the late Michael and Edna Wilson.

She was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Hunter College in New York where she earned her Bachelors degree. Maeve was employed as a staff secretary at Huntington Hospital prior to her retirement in 1995. She married the love of her life James Maher in 1963 and celebrated 56 years of marriage before his passing in 2019. Maeve enjoyed being a part of the Heath Village community and was a member of the Friendly visitors where she would deliver the mail and help set up for Mass. She was a member of the PTA in her younger years. Maeve enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing and all animals, especially birds. Above all she loved her family. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her loving children; sons, James M. Maher and his wife Susan, Charles W. Maher and his wife Rachel DeWitt and daughter Eileen M. Maher. She also leaves behind her adored grandchildren, Christopher, Ryan, Sophie and Connor. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her devoted husband, James W. Maher.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date.
