Lester Charles Accordino, 87, of Budd Lake, died peacefully in his home with family by his side on Wednesday afternoon, September 21, 2016. Born on May 4, 1929, in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late Felix and Ruth Accordino. He moved to Budd Lake with his family in 1971 where he remained for 45 years until his passing. Lester retired after working 47 years as a tool and die maker for the American Can Company. He was a proud member of the Army and served honorably during the Korean War. He enjoyed watching Yankees and Giants games and vacationing, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Lester is survived by his son James of Duryea, Pa, and daughters Barbara, and Linda Brown and son-in-law David, of Budd Lake, grandchildren Jennifer, James Jr., David, Ethan, Philip, Derek, and Hallie. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Lucille Accordino and brother-in-law Friedhelm Beuker of Dahle, Germany. Lester was predeceased by Marita I. Accordino nee Beuker, his wife of 40 years and his brother Ronald N. Accordino. Friends and family may pay their respects on Saturday September 24, 2016 from 9-1 PM at the Scala Memorial Home. 124 High St. Hackettstown, NJ 07840. Funeral services will be celebrated immediately following at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pequest Union Cemetery.
