Lawrence A Hurst

Lawrence A. Hurst, 91, of Hackettstown, NJ passed away peacefully at home on July 19, 2020 with loved ones by his side. Lawrence was born on March 31, 1929 in Manhattan, NY to the late Lou and Margaret Hurst. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War. Lawrence was known as a true craftsman and could fix anything. He enjoyed painting and making replica wooden ships in his spare time. Lawrence is survived by his children; Gail Meliti and her husband Wayne, Gary Hurst, Glenn Hurst, and Gwen Swenson and her husband Paul. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren. He is predeceased in death by his loving wife Janice, who passed away in 1996 and his daughter in law Linda Burk. A graveside inurnment service took place on Monday July 27, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows, NJ.
