Katherine Caruk

Katherine Caruk, 90, formerly of Hackettstown, NJ passed away peacefully on October 8, 2019 in Jacksonville, FL with her loving family by her side. Katherine was born on February 4, 1929 in Berkshire, NY to the late Nicholas and Michaeline Pacaluyko.
She married the love of her life Peter Caruk. Katherine was devoted to her husband, her family and the Lord. She was employed as a lab technician for Mennen Company in Morristown, NJ prior to her retirement in 1985. Katherine was a parishioner of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Great Meadows, NJ. She was very involved in the church. She sang in the choir, enjoyed baking for their bake sales and loved helping to make the pierogies. She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 282 in Hackettstown, NJ. Katherine enjoyed gardening, jigsaw puzzles and her cat. Most of all she loved her family and cherished every moment spent with them. She will be sadly missed.
She is survived by her loving children, sons; Peter Caruk and his wife Cheryl and Michael Caruk and his wife Doreen; a sister Olga Sudia and 6 treasured grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her devoted husband Peter Caruk, her son John and her sisters Mary and Virginia.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 from 4-8 PM at the Maguire-Scala Memorial Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 10:30 AM at the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church 335 Route 46, Great Meadows, NJ 07838. Burial will immediately follow the mass at Pequest Union Cemetery in Great Meadows.
