Joyce D Parr

Joyce D. Parr, 74, of Hackettstown, NJ passed away peacefully at Morristown Medical Center on September 6, 2019.
Joyce was born on April 23, 1945 in Bethesda, MD to the late George and Dorothy Volk.
Joyce previously lived in Elizabeth, NJ. She attended Nursing School in Neptune, NJ. Joyce married the love of her life Robert A. Parr Jr. in 1965. Together they built the home they would raise their family in Hackettstown. Joyce was employed as the Director of Somerville Senior Citizens until her retirement in 2017. She was an amazing cook. She would always make enough food to feed a small army, sending everyone home with leftovers. She loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She was of the Presbyterian faith and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Robert "Bob" Parr Jr.; her loving children, son; Robert and his wife Loanne; daughter; Catherine Mupo and her husband Richard; her cherished grandchildren; Amanda, Rebecca, Joseph and Christopher; her brother; David Volk and his wife Jane; and her sister-in-law Madeline Zdenak and her husband Peter.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, September 12, 2019 from 5-7:30 PM at the Maguire-Scala Memorial Home; 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840. Funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 7:30 PM in the funeral home.
