Josephine Palmer

Josephine Palmer, 99, of Hackettstown, NJ passed away peacefully on July 6, 2018 at Kindred Hospital in Dover, NJ.
Josephine was born on June 18, 1919 in Bayonne, NJ to the late Pasqual and Johanna Congedo.
Josephine was a lifelong resident of Hackettstown. She was a graduate of Hackettstown High School Class of 1937. Josephine was employed as a Cafeteria Manager for the local schools in Great Meadows and Budd Lake. She was of the Catholic faith and a parishioner of the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Hackettstown. Josephine was very active in the church. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and did volunteer work at the church. Josephine was a talented singer and loved singing to others. She also enjoyed cooking.
She is survived by her brother, Peter Congedo, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews of the Birsner, Palmer and Congedo families. She also leaves behind her many friends. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband Rymond Palmer who passed in 2010.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 9AM-12PM at the Scala Memorial Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 12:30PM at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 302 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840.
