John Davis Sutton III, 69 of Hackettstown NJ passed away suddenly on November 5, 2018.
John was born on January 15, 1949 in Dover NJ to the late John and Leona Sutton. John was employed as a welder prior to his retirement in 2008. Prior to living in Hackettstown, he resided in Washington NJ. He enjoyed fishing and wood working. He was very talented and made several model cars and handmade wooden stage coaches. John was an animal lover and had many pets over the years. He loved all of his cats and his dog, Lady. He would often change his schedule to ensure that his animals were taken care of, never wanting to leave them for any long period of time.
He is survived by his loving children, Daughter Trisha Achenbach and her husband Michael, Son John Davis Sutton IV and his wife Karen, Step-son Jerry Little and his wife Teresa, Step-daughter Ann Marie Carroll, also survived by brother David Sutton and his daughter Heather, Sister-in-law Irene Burdge, Nephews Leroy McGuire, Dickey Burdge and Danny Burdge, also his beautiful Grandchildren Cody Dally, Jacob, Emily and Rachel Sutton, Alyssa Fulmer, Dakota and Dylan Little.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia Louise Sutton who passed away in 2017.
He is also preceded in death by his brothers Richard Burge and Donald Brown, and his sisters Audrey Riker and Doris McGuire.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Pequest Union Cemetery in Great Meadows, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's name to the ASPCA at ASPCA
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Scala Memorial Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840.
