John Thomas Longstreet, 76, of Budd Lake, NJ passed away at Hackettstown Medical Center on March 31, 2026.
John was born on October 1, 1949 in Augusta, GA to the late Louis and Sarah Longstreet.
John grew up in Neptune, NJ where he attended High School. He spent his adult life in Morris and Sussex Counties. John was employed as a Supervisor at Newco Plastics & Laminating in Newton, NJ before becoming a longtime employee at BMW in Mt. Olive, NJ where he made many friends. John was known for his laughter, sense of humor and close relationship with his son and best friend Jeremy. Nothing made John happier than spending time fishing or hunting with Jeremy or his brother, Ronnie. He was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan; above all he just loved spending time with his son. John's smile and way of making others laugh will live in our hearts and memories forever.
He is survived by his loving son Jeremy John Longstreet, his granddaughter Jennifer Louise Slater, nephews Walter, Chris, Ronnie and John and a niece Barbie. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Ronnie and his sister Diane.
Honoring John's wishes there will be no service.
The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to St. Jude's hospital or Shriner's Children.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Maguire Memorial Home and Cremation Services, 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840.
