John H. Johnson, 72, of Hackettstown, NJ passed away peacefully on September 20, 2019 at home with his loving family by his side.
John was born on September 4, 1947 in Dover, NJ to the late Sigurd and Helen Johnson
He was a graduate of Farleigh Dickenson and was self employed as a carpenter. He later went on to work as a Manager for Home Depot and Lowe's. He married the love of his life Beverley (nee Smith) in 1983. John loved the outdoors, he was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hiking. John was a sports fan, particularly the Denver Broncos and the NY Giants. He also was a fan of High School football and attended many of the Roxbury High School games where he played while attending there. He was of the Episcopal faith. Above all he loved his family and will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years, Beverley Smith; his 2 loving sons; Erik and Craig Johnson. 2 cherished grandchildren; Mikayla and Dakota Johnson; his father-in-law who was his best friend Thomas Lemma; 2 brother-in-laws; David Smith and Jimmy Smith; a sister-in-law Cindy Smith-Webb and her husband James; a nephew Michael Webb and a niece Danielle Webb; and his Aunt and Uncle; Thelma and Bill Stank
Abiding with John's wishes, all services will be private.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Maguire-Scala Memorial Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840.
