Joann Oliver

Joann Oliver, 71 of Great Meadows, NJ passed away peacefully at home on November 14, 2022 with her best friend by her side.

Joann was born on September 3, 1951 in Irvington, New Jersey to the late Peter and Mary Sochon.

She graduated from High School and furthered her education with an associate’s degree. She married the love of her life, Thomas Oliver. Joann worked as a clerical employee until she retired in 2012. She was of Catholic faith and lived her life as a very loving, caring individual. Joann enjoyed socializing with others, and had many good times with her long time friend of 40 years, Luba Mosner and her family. She had a love for animals especially her dog, Buttercup. She also loved being outside working on the grounds picking up twigs and leaves. She will be greatly missed.

Joann is survived by her brother, George Sochon, of Maryland.

In addition to her parents, Joann is predeceased by her husband, Thomas Oliver who passed in 2016.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, November 20, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Maguire-Scala Memorial Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown NJ 07840. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on November 21, 2022 at 10:30 AM at the Church Of The Assumption Of The Blessed Virgin Mary, 302 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840.
