Joan M. Foley

Joan M. Foley, 65 passed away unexpectedly on July 12, 2016 at her home in Hackettstown, NJ. She was born on August 1, 1950 in Somerville, NJ to the late Rene and Christine LaPointe. Joan worked as a training coordinator at Picatinny Arsenal in Rockaway Township for 35 years. She was a member of The Church of the Assumption in Hackettstown where she sang in the choir. She loved writing poetry. She also enjoyed her trips to Atlantic City. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her loving son Scott Foley and his fiancé Mindy Joshnick; Brothers Jerry LaPointe, Rene LaPointe, Rick LaPointe and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Lucille Riley, Alice LeClair and Janet Hockin. Friends and family may pay their respects on Monday July 18, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Scala Memorial Home. 124 High St. Hackettstown, NJ 07840. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday July 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM at The Church of the Assumption. 302 High St. Hackettstown. Interment will follow at Pequest Union cemetery in Great Meadows. Donation may be made in Joan's name to the American Heart Association, 1 Union St. Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691.
