Janet Trujillo

January 22, 1954 — August 20, 2019

Janet Trujillo, of Long Valley, NJ passed away unexpectedly while returning from a short trip to visit family.
Janet was born on January 22, 1954 in Albuquerque, NM to the late Mary Lucero.
Janet started her career as a paralegal at Modrall Law Firm in Albuquerque, New Mexico. From there she met the love of her life and transitioned to being a home manager and professional mom. Janet loved and lived for taking care of her family.
Janet loved life and adventure. She lived and traveled across the United States. While she traveled the Americas her dream was to go to Greece. Not only did her loving husband take her to Paris and Barcelona but they fulfilled her dream to visit Santorini.
Janet took her role as professional mom very seriously. She always encouraged her daughters to explore any and all extracurricular activities. She guided her daughters thru girl scouts. When there was none to join she took it upon herself to form and new one, and take on the work and role as a Girl Scout leader just for their sakes. For which the Girls Scout Council of America honored her for.
Janet helped Sam thru his MBA, she was an amazing editor and made her family sound so much smarter. She got her daughter Samantha thru college and repeated illnesses when no one else could. She helped her daughter Stephanie start her life and guided her thru the toughest transitions.
Even thru the toughest times she made every penny count and made a house a home. She had the biggest heart and loved to help people when they needed it the most. She lovingly cared for her mother thru repeated illness until the end. She also traveled across the country to care for her husband when he needed it the most. She was so filled with life and made everyone who knew her lives brighter.
Even with every curveball life threw she took the time to live life to the fullest and smell the roses. She was the greatest cook and her Chicken Marsala, Lasagna, Meat loaf, Chili, Tortilla Soup among many other dishes was the highlight of the day. She often joked her Lasagna was how she lured in her husband Sam. She was an avid reader, loved online games and solving puzzles. She enjoyed playing Mahjong with her ladies. She loved her trips to Atlantic City with friends or loves ones. Wine tastings were something she always looked forward to. She was adventurous and always took the time to try new adventures. She would try anything with her family even when a horse rode her into the ocean.
Janet was a fearless defender for anyone who needed her. Yet she was also the sweetest and most empathetic woman who felt for everyone. She even cried for the unfortunate in animals documentaries.
She was of the Catholic faith. She was a vibrant woman who made everyone's life brighter will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She has earned her seat in the Kingdom of Heaven alongside family and loved ones who have passed before her. Where we will one day have the honor of seeing her radiant smile and being with her again.
Janet is survived by her devoted husband of 36 years, Samuel Trujillo, who she loved with all the heart. Her loving daughters, Samantha Trujillo and Stephanie Trujillo who she made into the women they are now and will never be the same without her. Her cousin who she loved as a sister Terri Lucente, as well as her niece Anita Sanchez and Anita's son Steven. Her best friends fondly referred to as the ladies Lois Voyin and Linda Canny will miss her greatly. She is preceded in death by her loving mother Mary Lucero who passed in 2016.
