Janet Chiniewicz

Janet R. Chiniewicz, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025, in Tyler, Texas. She was born on April 8, 1942, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late James and Sophie Anderson.

Janet dedicated many years of her life to her work as a bookkeeper, where her sharp mind and steady hand served her well. She retired in 2004, concluding a long and successful career. But her commitment to learning never ended - in 2020, she was immensely proud to earn her bachelor's degree from UT Tyler, a milestone she celebrated with joy and determination.

A faithful member of Congregation Beth El in Tyler, Janet's life was rooted in community and faith. She had a true artist's soul, finding joy in painting, and she had a heart that yearned for adventure. Janet especially loved traveling and camping, and she and her beloved motorhome traveled countless miles, creating warm memories across the country.

Janet is survived by her four sons, her eleven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, who meant the world to her. She is also survived by dear friends and members of her faith community. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Edward (who passed in 2021), her parents, and her sister.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to support Wounded Warrior Project, an organization close to Janet's heart. Your gift in her memory will help support wounded service members and their families.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside service, Friday, November 21, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Pequest Union Cemetery in Great Meadows, NJ with Rabbi Shusterman officiating.
