Helen Marie Van Orman, 88, of Hillsborough, NJ (formerly of Long Valley, NJ) passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025 with her loving family by her side.
Helen was born on January 20, 1937 on Staten Island, NY to the late Sanford and Helen Havens.
She graduated from Saint Peter's High School for Girls on Staten Island New York in 1955. She then attended Berkeley secretary school in Manhattan and worked for American Smelting before she married the love of her life, EB "Pat" Van Orman in 1960. Together they celebrated 56 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2016. Helen was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church in Long Valley for over 50 years. She enjoyed traveling, going to the beach and most of all spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed.
Helen is survived by her loving children; Laura Delaplain and her husband David, Linda Freeman and her husband William and Mark Van Orman and his wife Christine. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren; Meghan Manzella and her husband Salvatore, Caitlin Delaplain, Billy, Anna, Ryan, Andrew and Connor Freeman and Max and Bailey Van Orman and a great-grandson Joseph Manzella.
Family and Friends may pay their respects Monday, November 24, 2025 from 3-5 PM at the Maguire Memorial Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church, 2 East Springtown Rd, Long Valley, NJ 07853. Burial will follow the Mass in the Parish Cemetery.
