Harry Onuskonych Jr., 87, of Long Valley, NJ passed away peacefully on September 2, 2019 with his loving family by his side.
Harry was born on November 2, 1931 in Dunmore, PA to the late Harry and Helen Onuskonych.
Harry grew up in Newark, NJ and lived a short time in Lake Hopatcong before settling in Long Valley, NJ. Harry proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Upon returning from his tour of duty, he attended the RCA trade school. He married the love of his life Mary Sidor in 1954. Together they celebrated 65 years of marriage prior to her passing in March of this year. He was employed with RCA and Morris County Electronics prior to opening his own television repair shop, Village TV. Harry was a very talented musician and played the accordion. He was a member of the Harper Brothers Band for many years. He also was a bus driver prior to his retirement in 1998. Harry was of the catholic faith. He was a member of the Musicians Union and the VFW. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and oil painting. He was a devoted husband and loving father. Above all he loved his family. He will be sadly missed.
Harry is survived by loving son; Harry Onuskonych III. His cherished grandchildren; Jessica, Ryan and Michala. In addition to his wife Mary, he is preceded in death by his daughter Jill Kuchelman and a son Michael H. Onuskonych and 2 sisters.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, September 6, 2019 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Maguire- Scala Memorial Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840. Funeral services will be celebrated on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow service at Our Lady of the Mountain Parish Cemetery, Long Valley, NJ
