George Francis Sauvain

George Francis Sauvain, 62 of Newton, New Jersey passed away peacefully at home on July 8, 2022 with his loving family by his side. George was born on February 2, 1960 in Manhattan, New York to the late Earl and Lillian (nee Murphy) Sauvain. The family moved to Parsippany where George grew up. George married the love of his life Elizabeth ( Kelly ) Sauvain in 1989. George received his BA in accounting at Morris County Community College, then pursued his BS degree at Rutgers University. All at the same time working as an Accountant at the former Mountain Inn in Rockaway, New Jersey. He belonged to the Lake Plymouth Community Club in Stillwater N.J. He was an avid vegan foodie. George was also a cycling enthusiast, completing several local 40-100 mile bike tours during his cancer treatment. He enjoyed listening to Steely Dan and in the past year taught himself how to play the electric guitar. His kind and gentle spirit will be greatly missed. George is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years; Elizabeth Sauvain, his loving daughter Marie Elizabeth Sauvain, and his sister; Patricia Bowler.
