Garnet Y Jewell

Garnet Yvonne (Bonnie) Jewell, 65, of Port Murray, NJ passed away peacefully on August 19, 2017 at home with her family by her side.
Garnet was born in Parkersburg, W.V on December 5, 1951 to the late Orris and Marybelle Allen.
After graduating from Parkersburg High School, Class of 1969, she worked at the Bureau of Public Debt until 1982. That year she moved to N.J and worked at Picatinny Arsenal until 1988. Garnet left the work force for several years to raise her two sons and help with the small business her family owns. Garnet went back to work, part time, from 2000-2015 at the Mansfield Walmart in the customer service dept. She was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God in Hackettstown. She enjoyed making crafts and solving crossword puzzles. She loved to garden and canning. Garnet enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed.
She is survived by her loving husband Robert. Two sons, Robert Jr., (Bristol), of Hackettstown; and Thomas of Port Murray. She is also survived by her brothers, James Allen, Gary Allen and his wife Dianne of Parkersburg, W.V.; Dennis Allen and his wife Linda of Washington, W.V and Joseph and his wife Pam of Vienna, W.V. sisters, Becky Henke and her husband Ralph of Boaz, W.V and Cindy Allen of Vienna, W.V. In addition to her parents Orris Ray Allen and Mary Belle Allen (Lamp) she is preceded in death by her sister Patricia Schultz and her husband Carl of Walker.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, August 27, 2017 from 1-5 PM at the Scala Memorial Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840 Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 10:00 A.M in the funeral home Burial will immediately follow service at Port Murray Cemetery, Port Murray, NJ
