Eric Alan 'Nerd King' Rowe

Eric Alan "The Nerd King" Rowe, 42, of Mt. Olive, New Jersey completed his Earthly journey on May 5, 2022. Eric was born on September 27, 1979 in Erving, Massachusetts to the late Ronald Rowe Sr. and Judith (nee; Lapenas) Rowe. Eric spent his youth wandering the woods of Massachusetts, ever-searching the next adventure. After enjoying high school football and college art classes he joined the National Guard September 2001, and moved to New Jersey. Though Eric had a myriad of talents, he found his calling as a tattooist and established Atomic Fish Tattoo. He was always honored to design an ever-lasting piece for his clients (who he had a habit of turning into friends) and is leaving behind an array of original artwork on skin canvases.
Art in all forms had always been a love of his: drawing, painting, sculpture, leather-working, and carpentry; he was every child's crafting partner. His Halloween costumes will remain legendary for all time.
If it wasn't some artistic concept, his hands would stay busy tinkering with gadgets and machines. He had a knack for rebuilding the broken. He was happiest when he was creating, we are lucky he has left so many projects for us. When he wasn't creating, he loved game nights with friends and his kiddos, scary movies, cheeseburgers, good music, ketchup, Star Wars deep conversations, legos, and tending to his fish.
He was a man devoted wholly to all those he cared for and will be missed immensely by each life he has touched. Eric is survived by his loving mother Judith Rowe, Orange, Massachusetts; his girlfriend Andrea Kovalcik, Mt. Olive, NJ; his daughter, Sophia Marie Rowe and her mother Lauren Angelini, Mt. Olive, NJ; and the children he raised as his own, Opal Marie and Shale Philip Giganti.
He leaves behind his grandmother Leona Lapenas; dearest brothers, Ronald Rowe Jr. and his partner Glenn Nadeau; Keith Rowe and his wife Stacey; Barry Pease; his nephew Maximilian Gabriel Rowe; and his Godfather Robert Vernere. He has many cousins, aunts, uncles, close friends, clients, and military brethern who will feel his absence indefinitely. He is preceded in death by his father Ronald Rowe Sr, and his dog Grim Master Flash. Please remember Eric in random but quirky acts of kindness.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, May 12, 2022 from 2:00 - 6:00 PM at the Maguire-Scala Memorial Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840. A service of remembrance will immediately follow the visitation at 6:00 PM in the funeral home.
