Emma M. Skowronsky, 95, of Washington Township, Morris County, NJ passed away peacefully on July 6, 2018 at Heath Village Nursing Home with her loving family by her side.
Emma was born on January 7, 1923 in Staten Island, NY to the late Stephen and Suzan Molnar.
She was a graduate of Port Richmond High School in Staten Island, Class of 1940 and was a resident of Basking Ridge, NJ for over 50 years. She was married to Felix J. Skowronsky until his passing in 1980. Emma worked as an insurance claims adjuster for Aetna Insurance before her retirement in 1981. After that she was employed for many years at Epstein's Department Store in Morristown, NJ. She loved to help others and often volunteered at the Bishop Janes United Methodist Church in Basking Ridge where she was a member. She was a past member of the Business and Professional Women of Somerset County. Upon moving to Hackettstown, she became a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Emma loved to read and was an animal lover, particularly dogs. Above all she loved her family and treasured every moment spent with them.
She is survived by her loving son, Kenneth Skowronsky and his wife Linda. In addition to her husband Felix J. Skowronsky she is preceded in death by her daughter, Susan A. Skowronsky who passed in 2007 and her siblings, Barbara and Susie. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 2PM at Heath Village, 430 Schooley's Mountain Road, Hackettstown, NJ. Inurnment will take place at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge, NJ
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Emma's name to The Seeing Eye, 10 Washington Valley Road, Morristown, NJ 07960. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Scala Memorial Home 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840.
