Emanuel “Manny” Curasi, 92, of Hackettstown, NJ passed away peacefully on November 5, 2024 at home with his loving wife by his side.
Manny was born on September 25, 1932 in Bronx, NY to the late Michael and Vincenza Curasi.
He was a graduate of Christopher Columbus High School Class of 1950. Manny proudly served his Country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was employed as a Butcher, taking over his father’s business, Michael’s Meat Market in the Bronx. Manny moved to Hackettstown in 1981 and then to Panther Valley in 1996. He was also employed by Hoskin’s Livery for many years prior to his retirement in 2016. He enjoyed woodworking and built many beautiful pieces of furniture over the years. He was a NY Yankees fan. Manny was an avid bowler and on 3 leagues at Oakwood Lanes. Manny was a parishioner of St Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Great Meadows for many years prior to attending 1st Baptist Church of Belvidere. His favorite book in the Bible was Ecclesiastics. Above all he loved his family. He will be greatly missed.
Manny is preceded in death by his first wife of 40 years Angelina Curasi (nee; Graziano) he is survived by his devoted wife of 22 years Jean Curasi, his loving children; Vincentia Fricano and her husband Raymond, JoAnne Monteforte and her husband Louis, Gina Giordano, step-children; Charles Magyar III, Gary William Magyar and his wife Debbie and Leroy Allan Magyar, 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 10AM-12 PM at Maguire Memorial Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840. Funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 12:00 in the funeral home. Burial will take place at Pequest Union Cemetery in Great Meadows, NJ
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Manny’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Maguire Memorial Home.
