Elmer "Richie" Almodovar

Elmer "Richie" Almodovar, 66 passed away peacefully on July 25, 2016 in Dover, NJ He was born on March 25, 1950 in New York, NY to Isidro and Ludgardis Almodovar. Richie proudly served his country in the Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He met and married the love of his life Hilda. Richie was employed as a driver. He drove both trucks and buses, traveling across the country often. He was of the Methodist faith. He was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed bowling and ice skating. Richie was an avid NY Yankees fan. He was a caring man that loved life, his friends and above all his family. He is survived by his devoted wife Hilda, 6 loving children, 9 cherished grandchildren, and all who have passed through his doors which he and held under his wings. Friends and family may pay their respects on Friday, July 29, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-7 PM at the Scala Memorial Home. 124 High St. Hackettstown, NJ 07840. Funeral service will follow visitation at 7 PM in the funeral home. Military honors to follow service.
