Ellen Louise English

Ellen Louise English, 82, formerly of Hackettstown, NJ passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026 at Emerald Hills (previously Warren Haven) in Oxford, NJ.

Ellen was born on February 29, 1944 in Los Angeles, California to the late Lawrence and Minnie Merman.

She and her husband, Herbert Martin English, were married in 1965. Ellen was employed as a nurse while in California before retiring in 1985. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting, sewing and jigsaw puzzles. Her passion was genealogy. She spent years researching and recording her findings. Above all she loved her family. She will be greatly missed.

Ellen is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Herbert English, her loving daughter; Andrea English and her husband Thomas Raab, and her three grandchildren, Colin English, Sarah Raab, and Fernando English Quiros. In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her son, Damon Martin English.

Honoring her wishes, all services will be private.
