Elaine A. Embree, 72, previously of Hackettstown, NJ passed away peacefully on August 15, 2018 in Andover, NJ
Elaine was born on September 29, 1945 in Newton, NJ to the late John and Dorothy Carpenter.
Elaine was a graduate of Hackettstown High School class of 1963. She was a lifelong resident of Hackettstown prior to moving to Andover in 2008. She was employed as a crossing guard in Hackettstown and was a familiar sight at the corner of Warren and Washington Streets, always ensuring the children made it safe to school. Elaine was of the Presbyterian faith. She enjoyed making crafts and crocheting. She was an avid reader and loved to cook and bake.
She is survived by her loving son, John Reade and his wife Sally, her caring siblings, a sister, Carol Hammell and a brother, John Carpenter Jr. She is preceded in death by her husband Raymond Embree who passed in 1988.
As per Elaine's wishes, all services will be held privately.
