Denis Hennessy O'Rourke died peacefully on September 15, 2017 in Belvidere, NJ at the age of 77.
He is survived by his former wife, Nancy O'Rourke; his son Timothy Hennessy O'Rourke; his daughter, Colleen O'Rourke-Heredia, son-in-law Raul Heredia and grandchildren, Paloma and Sebastian Heredia. He is also survived by his sister, Virginia McLaughlin and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother, Brian and sister, Anne Friedman.
Denis was born in June of 1940 in Brooklyn NY to Bernard and Anne O'Rourke (née Hennessy). He graduated from Roxbury High School and attended St. Bonaventure University. Throughout his professional life he worked in banking and real estate, and served on the initial board of directors of Skylands Community Bank in Hackettstown NJ, which he helped incorporate.
