Daniel Gerard McCarthy

Daniel Gerard McCarthy, 72, of Budd Lake, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at his home on March 1, 2026.

Born on March 8, 1953 in Staten Island, New York, Daniel was the son of the late Joseph McCarthy and Constance McCarthy, née Bitterli. He was a graduate of Hanover Park High School and went on to become a respected member of the local business community as the owner and operator of Dan McCarthy's Plumbing and Heating. Daniel proudly served his customers for many years before retiring in 2023.

Daniel was a very quiet man who kept to himself, loved to work, and appreciated the simple things in life. He found enjoyment in collecting coins and stamps and took pride in his lifelong dedication to his trade.

He is survived by his siblings, Lawrence McCarthy; Thomas McCarthy and his wife, Deborah; and Jean Kibalo and her husband, Mike. He also leaves behind his niece, Emily Moroney and her husband, Daniel; and his nephew, Ryan McCarthy and his fiancée, Kristina.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made by planting a tree in memory of Daniel.
