Concetta L Fantano

Concetta L. Fantano, 92, of Hackettstown, New Jersey and previously of the Knolls of Melville retirement community in Melville, New York, passed away peacefully with family beside her on April 11, 2022 at Hackettstown Medical Center.
Connie was born on August 23, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Louis and Elizabeth Virgilio. She married the love of her life Salvatore Fantano in 1952. Connie worked as a bookkeeper for the Town of Smithtown for 14 years until her retirement in 2000. She enjoyed cooking and having family dinners on Sundays. Pasta with homemade sauce and antipasta were her specialties. Connie also was a serious Bridge player and an avid reader. She enjoyed traveling especially cruises and visits with her family. She resided at Paragon Village in Hackettstown for the past 2 years and enjoyed playing Bingo and cards with the other residents.
Connie is survived by her loving children; sons, Gene Fantano and his wife Gwenmarie Hilleary, Steven Fantano and his wife Julie, and Louis Fantano and his fiancé Robin Parker, daughter, Diana Fantano Hoffman and her husband Andrew. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren; Salvatore, Tony, Teddy, Christopher, Marc, Lauryn, Timothy, Kristen, Sylvie and cherished great grandchildren; Dominic, Luca, Mackenzie and Avery.
In addition to her parents Connie is predeceased in death by her beloved husband Salvatore Fantano who passed in 1985, and her siblings Joseph Virgilio, Kate Catapano, Mario Virgilio and George Virgilio.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at McCourt & Trudden Funeral Home Inc., 385 Main Street, Farmingdale, New York 11735. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on April 20, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Kilian Parish, 485 Conklin Street, Farmingdale, New York 11735 followed by the burial at Saint Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, New York 11735.
